Virginia Chaplains Association The Virginia Chaplains Association (VCA) is an inclusive professional organization open to all ordained and/or ecclesiastically endorsed persons who serve as chaplains, pastoral counselors, or spiritual caregivers (full, part-time, or volunteer in any institutions or industries within Virginia. Its focus is education, nurture, networking, and advocacy. Established in 1990 through the efforts of a steering committee of pastoral caregivers, VCA was structured similar to its counterpart in North Carolina. The Association has elected officers and functions with an executive council and appropriate committees. Officers include: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Committees include: Membership, Advocacy, Communication, Auditing, and a Historian.
